This adoption policy outlines every step of the process, from the initial application to bringing your new family member home. Your kitten’s well-being and your satisfaction are always our top priorities.

1. The Adoption Journey Begins Here:

Application:

Start your adoption process by completing our online application. This allows us to understand your lifestyle, preferences, and the type of kitten that would best fit your family. Your details help us ensure a seamless match, making sure your new kitten’s personality and energy level align with your expectations.

Matching Your Kitten to Your Family:

Once your application is reviewed and approved, we will present you with kittens that fit your preferences. We encourage you to schedule a video call or an in-person meet-and-greet to strengthen the bond between you and your new kitten. It’s important that you feel a connection before proceeding with the adoption.

Important Considerations for Kitten Selection:

Each kitten is unique, and we strive to match you with the best possible fit for your home. While we make every effort to accommodate preferences for coat colors, personalities, and coat types, it’s important to note that these cannot always be guaranteed. If the kitten you select doesn’t meet your exact expectations, your deposit can be applied to a future kitten from another litter.

Non-refundable Deposit:

To secure your chosen kitten, we require a non-refundable deposit of $600. This deposit reflects your commitment and helps ensure we are providing you with a smooth adoption experience.

Contract & Final Payment:

Before pickup or delivery, you will receive an adoption contract to review, which outlines important conditions related to your kitten’s health, vaccinations, and long-term care. The remaining balance is due one week before delivery. Please note that all payments must be made in USD.

2. Bringing Your New Companion Home:

Delivery/Pickup Criteria:

Our kittens are typically ready to leave our care at 11 weeks or older, once they’ve reached an important developmental milestone, ensuring they are physically and emotionally ready for their new family.

Local Pickup/Delivery (Louisville, KY & Surrounding Areas):

If you live in or near Louisville, KY, we offer local delivery or pickup at a mutually agreed-upon location. Delivery fees for this service range from $200 to $300, depending on the distance.

Nationwide Shipping (United States & Canada):

For those adopting outside the Louisville area, we provide nationwide shipping to all locations within the United States and Canada. Shipping is facilitated through trusted, professional carriers, with costs ranging from $400 to $800. Additional charges may apply based on the distance from our cattery. An estimated shipping cost will be provided after your application is reviewed.

Shipping Restrictions:

Please note, shipping is unavailable during extreme weather conditions (temperatures below 25°F or above 85°F). In the event of any unexpected delays due to weather or other factors, we will notify you immediately to ensure you’re kept informed of any changes to your delivery schedule.

Delivery Confirmation & Tracking:

Upon shipping, you’ll receive a tracking number for your kitten’s journey. A delivery confirmation will be sent once your kitten has arrived, ensuring you’re kept in the loop every step of the way.

Import Restrictions:

If you’re adopting from outside the U.S. or Canada, please consult with us regarding any import restrictions in your country or state to prevent any issues with shipping or customs.

3. Health and Wellness Guarantee:

Comprehensive Health Checks:

All kittens from Green Bell Cattery undergo thorough health screenings, including genetic testing and breed-specific health checks, conducted by our trusted veterinarians. We are committed to ensuring that every kitten is in excellent health before being placed in your care.

Health Guarantee:

We offer a 1-year health guarantee against any pre-existing genetic conditions or illnesses that might arise shortly before or after the kitten’s adoption. This gives you peace of mind knowing that your kitten’s health is a priority for us.

4. Adoption Contract:

Once you’ve selected your kitten and are ready to move forward, we will send you an adoption contract to review and sign. This contract outlines your responsibilities regarding the care and well-being of your new kitten, ensuring a smooth transition and long-term happiness for your furry friend.
